Nancy Armstrong aka NANA READS ALOUD

I am extremely passionate about reading aloud to children and have been sharing thousands of books with them for over fifty years. I have enjoyed reading aloud in treehouses, inner city schools, afterschool programs, classrooms, group homes, libraries, outdoor nature camps, beaches, boats, canoes, planes, trains, and automobiles. For forty years I have been involved in public education as a Classroom Teacher, Curriculum Director, and School Librarian. These experiences provided me with countless opportunities to help students to discover the joys and power of reading. I wrote grants, solicited funds from local organizations (Kiwanis, Optimists, Rotary, & PTO were very supportive), community members, and held several book drives to get books and reading materials into the hands and homes of children. I have been a Friend of the Ogallala Library for over thirty years and have helped distribute free books to children. One of my greatest achievements is being selected as the Nebraska Read Aloud Champion 2021.
